Tenants with an existing written tenancy were due a copy of the government's Information Sheet by 31 May 2026. GOV.UK is specific about how it is given.

Who gets it

Most landlords and letting agents had to give the Information Sheet to tenants with an assured or assured shorthold tenancy that has written terms, by 31 May 2026.

Where a tenancy that began before 1 May 2026 had no written terms, the landlord had to give the full written information by the same date instead.
